RSVP Form
While completing an RSVP form does not guarantee a spot, it does help us to guage the total number of attendees. We have never filled up the truck completely, but we have come close!
FAQ
Yes! All materials will be destroyed on-site. In fact, the materials are more than just shredded; They are put through a grinder which creates far smaller pieces than a typical at-home shredding machine. The truck is equipped with a video camera and live video feed so that you may watch as your materials pass into the shredder.
Feel free to bring your materials in any container you would like! Attendees often bring their materials in boxes, paper bags, or plastic bags. The shredding truck is equipped with several collection bins (similar to your trash, recycle, organics collection bins) so you can simply dump the contents of your container into the bins. Plastic bags should not be put in the collection bins.
No, not at all! We ask for an estimated number of file boxes just to have an overall gauge of materials to be shredded.
As this is a free community event paid for and hosted by One Mission Realty, we want to be able to provide this service to as many attendees as possible. For this sake, we ask attendees to limit their shredding materials to the equivalent of no more than 10 file boxes. If you have more than 10 file boxes, please contact us first.
Yes! One Mission Realty believes privacy and security are important. As such, we have provided this service free of charge to the community annually for many years.
The RSVP request is to help us gauge approximate attendance and approximate amount of items to be shredded. We are unable to guarantee or reserve a spot as this event is “First come, first served.” The shredding truck holds a large amount of materials and we have never filled it up completely, although we have come close! In the past, we have never had to turn someone away an attendee who arrived between 9AM and 11AM, but again, we cannot 100% guarantee a spot and appreciate your understanding!
Please see the above answer. The event will be from 9AM to 11AM. In the past, attendees have arrived right at 9AM, and others have arrived within the last few mintues and still been able to shred their materials on-site. The event is “First come, first served.”
Attendees shred all sorts of paper, specifically financial, medical, confidential, and sensitive documents. If your paper has staples, or even paper clips, that is ok to send through the shredder. Larger binder clips, ideally should be removed before shredding.
Your materials will be shredded/destroyed on-site. Afterwards, our shredding partner recycles the destroyed materials.
